My frens

I was going thru the chronological history of India, the interesting thing is that The Indians did not rule India (most parts) for more than 1000 years. Amazing. From 800 A.D Persians,Romans, Portugees, Chinees, Arabs, , British and then in 1957 Indians. Every emperors contributed uniting India. Now the Indian wants to unite all the sub-continent. One way or another. we cannot do anything about it. We dont have power to control our own citizens how can we challange India. Its among one of the Super power in the world.

better not support the recent govt. trying to sell our country to india which they did before. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always argued for a Nepal that believes in itself by becoming aware of its Strength, weaknesses, threats and opportunities. I think King was working in that front- to make Nepal a sovereign nation which could determine its future with a strong commitment to nation's overall development in social, political and economical front. But this was not to be.

I see two issues in this, one is political- leaders have never committed themselves to the nation rather, its their party or vested agenda. Just like in old days, Jamindars used bonded labors to reap the loot, now politicians are doing the same in the name of bonded citizens. I speak of bonded citizens for the fact in the name of popular movement, a farce in itself, citizens are being made a scapegoat. The parties never speak of citizens or their welfare, rather if you support us, we will give you this (empty rhetoric). Politics in Nepal is a profession of drop outs and set of people who have feudal tendencies in guise of democracy.

The second issue is foreign pressure and interest. As we have continued being a nation that lives in hand-outs and blessing of foreigners- there is a dearth of ideas and activities in propagating our opportunities and strength. From politics to economics, the tendency to rely has become a habit. When nation becomes dependent then it is naturally in the best interest of foreigners- simply, learning to fish is better than a hand-out but this is not the case. Unless we learn to become stronger from within and keep house in order- barbarians will always be at gate.

Culture of instability in politics, culture of corruption in commercial areas, and culture of foreign dependency (politics) is the norm. Nepal will not be able to break this cycle unless and until there is a concerted effort from all segment of citizenry. This does not mean to follow a radical path which Maoist proposes but a systematic and determined commitment to make Nepal truly sovereign whereby it can solely work in the better interest of its people rather than in interest of any specific parties or countries.
